Cold Weather Shut-Off Protection
The Minnesota Cold Weather Law provides that from October 15 through April 15 an electric utility cannot disconnect a residential consumer for non-payment if you meet certain conditions.

Military Shut-Off Protection
Minnesota’s electric cooperatives must not disconnect the utility service of a residential customer if a member of the household has been issued order into active duty, for deployment, or for a permanent change in duty station during, the period of active duty, deployments, or change in duty station if residential costumer meets criteria set forth in Minnesota Statue 325E.027 Utility Payment
